Entry Fee and Payout Structure

The league entry fee is $100. The payout structure in 2024 was $800/$400/$100 to the top three finishers, but we will need to adjust for 14 players in 2025.

I was thinking $800/$400/$150/$50 with 14 members. Does anyone oppose this?

All set on payment.

Also, does anyone oppose a payout of $800/$400/$150/$50? I just added $50 each to third and fourth place.

I am not sure how to change that. Maybe I can when the draft room opens?

I am guessing you want to nominate Freddie Freeman lol.

Teams who still need to pay:

All have paid.

I will send out an email reminder as well. I would like to have all funds secured before the draft room opens one hour before.

I wish. I have been trying to take off the last week for years. Only seems to be an option for H2H leagues.

I will do my annual quest and hit up ESPN support this week lol.

here is grok's take on the draft-

Here’s a detailed analysis of the 2025 fantasy baseball auction results for your 14-team rotisserie-style 5x5 league, with categories of OPS, HR, RBI, SB, R for hitting, and QS, SV, K, ERA, WHIP for pitching. I’ve used my knowledge of player values and league dynamics to project standings, recap team strategies, identify bargains and overpays, and assess the overall outlook, including winners, losers, and comparisons to past trends. Since I can’t search for exact 2025 projections this time, I’ll rely on reasonable estimates based on player performance trends and typical auction values, adjusted for a 14-team league.

Projected Standings

In a 14-team league with a $260 budget per team, total spending is $3,640 across 322 players (23 per team). Standings are projected by estimating roster strength in the 5x5 categories, based on total spending and player quality. Here’s a rough ranking based on perceived value:

1. Buncho Bums ($260 spent, elite stars like Witt and Skubal)
2. Team Pizzaman ($260 spent, Ohtani anchor with pitching depth)
3. Maf Wic ($260 spent, Judge and Carroll headline)
4. Team Rick ($260 spent, Soto and Harper lead)
5. Metry Hit Men ($260 spent, Tucker and pitching balance)
6. CarbonzaHammers ($260 spent, Ramirez and Alvarez power)
7. Vicks Kennel Club ($260 spent, Tatis and Turner stars)
8. American Dreams ($260 spent, Henderson and pitching)
9. The Mudhens ($260 spent, Rodriguez and Marte balance)
10. Bronx Bombers ($260 spent, Freeman and Burnes anchor)
11. Zeph's Outfield Saints ($260 spent, Betts overpay hurts)
12. Hot Stove ($260 spent, Skenes overpay impacts)
13. Nyjer Please ($260 spent, Lindor and Wheeler solid)
14. Team Sttdb ($260 spent, De La Cruz high risk)

Buncho Bums and Team Pizzaman top the list due to elite anchors (Witt, Ohtani) and balanced rosters, while Zeph’s and Hot Stove lag due to overpays.

Team Recaps, Strategies, Bargains, Overpays, and Outlook
Vicks Kennel Club ($260 spent)
Strategy: Stars-and-scrubs, with big investments in Fernando Tatis Jr. ($48), Trea Turner ($37), and Chris Sale ($26), filling out with $1-2 depth.

Biggest Overpays: Tatis ($48, ~$35 value post-injury), Turner ($37, ~$25 value).
Outlook: Strong in SB and OPS with Tatis and Turner, but pitching (Sale, Webb) may lack depth. Mid-tier finish likely.

Best Bargains: Riley Greene ($9, ~$15 value), Felix Bautista ($16, ~$20 value).

Buncho Bums ($260 spent)
Strategy: Elite stars (Witt $67, Skubal $46) with depth (Cease $28).
Best Bargains: Dylan Cease ($28, ~$35 value), William Contreras ($19, ~$25 value).
Biggest Overpays: Witt ($67, ~$50 value), Skubal ($46, ~$35 value).
Outlook: Best roster, top-tier favorite.

Bronx Bombers ($260 spent)
Strategy: Balanced stars (Freeman $35, Burnes $27) with depth (Clase $27).
Best Bargains: Emmanuel Clase ($27, ~$35 value), Jordan Westburg ($15, ~$20 value).
Biggest Overpays: Freeman ($35, ~$30 value), Bellinger ($21, ~$15 value).
Outlook: Solid but not elite, mid-tier.

Overall Outlook and Winners/Losers
Winners: Buncho Bums (Witt, Skubal, Cease), Team Pizzaman (Ohtani’s unique value), and Team Rick (Soto, Harper, Acuna) have the strongest rosters.

Losers: Hot Stove (Skenes overpay), Zeph’s (Betts overpay), and Team Sttdb (high-risk flops) lag due to inefficiencies.

League Trends: Heavy spending on top hitters (Ohtani $75, Judge $73, Witt $67) suggests a premium on OPS and SB, with pitching relatively undervalued (e.g., Burnes $27).

Comparison to Previous Years’ Tendencies
Without specific past data, I’ll infer from general trends. This year’s draft shows:

Higher Top-End Spending: Players like Ohtani ($75), Judge ($73), and Witt ($67) exceed typical $50-60 caps, suggesting inflation in a 14-team league vs. 12-team norms.

Pitching Discount: Elite SPs like Burnes ($27) and Cease ($28) are lower than past years’ $30-40 range, possibly due to QS focus over wins.
Stars-and-Scrubs Dominance: More teams leaned into this strategy than balanced approaches, a shift from past years’ tendencies toward even distribution.

Conclusion
Buncho Bums and Team Pizzaman lead with elite anchors and balance, while overpays hurt teams like Hot Stove and Zeph’s. The draft reflects a 14-team league’s scarcity-driven inflation on hitters, offering lessons for future auctions. Let me know if you’d like deeper dives into specific teams or categories!

Yeah this was kind of unfortunate. I was hoping for the post injury discount but Betts was the last man standing on my top tier board. The plan was Soto but wasn't going to $60 with the thought I could get Betts at $39 or so.

I should have pushed Gunnar to $46 or even get on Duran which would have pushed him into the $30s(VKC got him at $29).
