Earl filled a hole at catcher, which seems to be a pretty deep position in the current pool. Lucroy and Ramos seemed to be the best available. Should be solid production, though there are other holes that couldve gotten addressed first.
Initially I was going to go another route due to catcher depth. But in the end I felt getting a catcher as good as Lucroy couldn't be passed up.

I'll stick with tanaka as a SP5 and Napoli as a poor mans pujols.

This draft is about as satisfying as end to True Detective

It ended as a buddy cop movie with a ton of cliches....great series with a little let down at the end - a formulaic end.

They only caught the point man to a full web of corruption. That is ok, but the "loss" did not come together as well as I expected

Yeah but that weighed hard on Cohle at the end. Kinda makes you think that they weren't done.
I heard they won't have the same cast in S2

I thought it was brilliant. It played out like a good book would.

There really wasn't a way to make the ending not cliche.
The whole season and 40 minutes of the finale was them piecing together everything and it had to come to a head somewhere,

and it had to come to a head somewhere,
i was looking for either a nicely tied together full conclusion, or an open-ended conclusion that leave your wanting more
rust was a classic tragic hero in this story, but him not dying in pursuit of his sole purpose was the true tragedy

spoiler alert
this draft is never going to end

Rust needed to die....they didn't need the buddies given each other the bird. I still consider it one of the best miniseries I've ever seen but I think he blew the ending just a bit.
And the light/dark bit at the end was hokie.
