Most catchers take day games after night games off and Sundays... Really not a big deal IMO

He'll lose at bats and he'll lose duel eligibility next year. I think he's a little overhyped this year. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great hitter, but I see him ranked in the top 30 to 50 in some lists. Sanatana, who is currently ranked around 150, had a higher OPS than Posey before he got hurt. He's about to gain 1B eligibility as well and with the DH slot available, he should get a bunch of ABs. He's also a switch hitter so he will not be platooned by the pitching matchup.

not something I am worried about at all. I need him to Catch and Catch only

but a top 3 catcher in an already mentioned thin position

CS .868 BP .862

and I know CS will hit for more power but Posey will hit for average

140 games for an NL catcher is ok by me...

Is the position really thin, though?

There are only 16 teams in our league.

I'd feel very comfortable with Posey as my Catcher.

There's some definite value to be had.

BUT...if he would play 1b from time to time in the back to back situation he would get more ABs.

I agree, but to think Posey's value goes down because he won't play games at 1B makes me laugh is all

more so from when NOBian said it

dude come on...not every player can play 155-162 games a season

Mauer won the MVP with 138 games

I just think this is over analyzing on your part..

didnt say it was bad necessarily.

all NL catchers have to take time off, but honestly at this point I'm not sure who else I would want as my catcher

Naw...All I am saying is less ABs is not as good as more ABs.

And you are acting butthurt.

It would help his stats if he had an additional 50-90 ABs FACT

Brandon Webb said his arm feels great and he's had good life on the ball while in camp.
The Rangers are taking things slow with Webb. Pitching coach Mike Maddux said the goal is to build up Webb's arm strength so he can get back on the mound and throw bullpen sessions, though he didn't have a timetable for when that would be. Webb played catch Sunday after a heavy long toss session on Saturday.

I was listening to MLB radio on the way to work this morning, and they spent a good fifteen minutes shitting all over Brandon Webb. Rob Dibble said he doesn't expect Webb to even see major league action before Mother's Day.

He also predicted that Liriano starts the season on the DL.

No, I felt bad for you. Thought about stopping at the Walgreens on the way and picking up a few "GET WELL SOON" cards.
