Seems like their current somewhat moderate D Gov Cooper is going to run for the Tillis seat in 2026. Tillis isn't super popular with Rs, and Cooper has good name recognition and won 2 statewide elections already. Obviously somewhat moderate D governor ends up voting with Biden/Pelosi 95%+ of the time once they get to Washington and we can't let that happen.

Any ideas who the Rs should run?

Looking ahead to 2026, Maine and NC will be the prime targets the Dems try and flip. Maybe Alaska too depending on what happens there. For Republicans, they can try to flip GA (Kemp vs Ossof?) and might have a long shot chance in NH and Michigan depending on the candidates.

Somebody other than Robinson? There has to be a better option.

There's a really good guy out here, Jeff Jackson, that I'd like to see run. He just won AG, and while he's a Democrat, he is pretty moderate and actually listens to his constituents. He hosts town halls all the time at breweries, and regularly responds to Reddit and other social media.

Cooper will run for the Dems and be tough to beat unfortunately. I don't think the Repubs can run Tillis, but if they don't then they hit the issue of someone with limited name recognition vs Cooper who is well known.

This is a load of shite. He voted lockstep with every shite Democratic policy while he was in congress. He may pretend to listen to constituents, but his voting record is as hard left as they come.
