Could see Thomas leaving too, that would bring it up to 4 if he's re-elected in 2020.

I know he won't accept it (or maybe he would, who knows) but I hope Jonathan Turley gets a look.

If he wants to improve his standing among Mormons, he should nominate Mike Lee to replace Scalia. Mike Lee would be spectacular.

There could be an outside chance of a patriot like Clarence Thomas voluntarily stepping down in a couple of years so Trump could replace him with a like minded justice.

What would cause Ginsberg or Kennedy to resign? Wouldn't one thing Ginsburg would try to hold out 4 years to avoid a conservative filling her seat?

She definitely will try, but there comes a time when you just get too old.

Ginsburg is 83
Kennedy is 80
Breyer is 78

Thomas is "only" 68 but I could envision him hitting 70 and deciding to hang it up with a good chance to be replaced by a conservative judge.

I think Ginsberg's husband is terminal. She's not in great health herself.
Her husband is very dead.
