I saw a post with Louis Lasser in it and it reminded me of the 70s tv show she was in. I looked it up and it was MH2. I remember watching it with my parents when I was a kid. Did not realize it was a nightly soap.

The show had some great actors, Dabney Coleman, Martin Mull etc. It lasted two seasons, five days a week and then changed names and went on for another season or two. The wiki page says it was a cultural phenomenon of post Watergate catharsis.

I don't remember much about plot, did anyone watch it that remembers anything about it? Worth watching on youtube?

Dabney Coleman,

Been in a million things, but just reading his name makes me instantly think of his character Jack Flack from Cloak and Dagger. Then Frank from 9 to 5. Childhood thing, I guess.

But to your point, I have never heard of Mary Hartman Mary Hartman before. Was that really the title? Wtf?

Great look into what life was like in the mid-late 70's.

I was really too young for MHMH. I have virtually no memory of it.

I don't really remember 2-Nite all that well either. I don't think the TV stations where I was living carried it. I've watched it since, and it's often hilarious. Fred Willard could only play one character, but he played it to perfection and 2-Nite was probably his best ever vehicle.

I liked Coleman in Modern Problems as the alpha psychoanalyst.

Back in the day, people got smoked up to watch it.

Not sure how it was otherwise.

That is what I was looking for. Sounds like you should be roasted for it. Check!

It was similar to “Soap”, and it was insane. I remember someone drowning in a bowl of chicken soup? Martin Mull was in it, too, I think.

It came on during the middle of the day when I was 5 or 6. The humor/plots were over my head and, like a lot shows in the 70s, the look of the show was dreary and depressing.

It was the days of 3 or 4 channels and I always dreaded seeing it on. It usually meant the end of the kids shows/game shows and the start of news/soaps for the day.

For the most part, much of the 70's were dreary and depressing.
