It was great being in HS from 1965-1969. I went to an all boys Catholic HS on Staten Island and we would invite all 7 girls high schools to our dances. Some belly-rubbing songs from those days:
A take off on this song was in "Love Actually" as a Christmas song:
The Troggs "Love is All Around"
The Turtles "You Showed Me"
The Association "Cherish"
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles "Tracks of my Tears"
A one hit wonder that I remember from my senior year in HS:
Mercy "Love Can Make You Happy"
And then there were great songs like:
The Kinks "Sunny Afternoon"
Or the remake of The Supremes:
Vanilla Fudge "You Keep Me Hanging On"
Small Faces "Itchycoo Park"
Procol Harum "A Whiter Shade of Pale"
So many great songs from that time.

Something about this singer.
Georgie Girl
Agree.
Australia's The Seekers and Judith Durham
I'll Never Find Another You
I found this group's female vocalist similarly intriguing.

Those were great times. Cherish was a top shelf smooth slow dancing tune and often followed up with:
The Association-Never My Love
And in those times this underrated, often forgotten gem by The Turtles:
The Turtles-You Know What I Mean
And this:
The Monkees-When Love Comes Knockin' (At Your Door)

Reflections - the Supremes.
Nowhere to run to - Martha and the Vandellas.
Gotta get out of this place - Animals.
Sunday morning coming down - cash
Whiter shade of pale - procol harum
Long cool woman in a black dress - hollies.

Mr. Misanthrope, I always thought that "I'll Never Find Another You" had some of the greatest lyrics. And the bass player looks like Michael Caine.
Some of my other favorites from those days:
The Dave Clark Five "Because"
The Kinks "Well Respected Man"
The Doors "The Crystal Ship"
The Beach Boys "God Only Knows"
The Monkees "What Am I Doing Hangin' 'Round?"

I went back and looked. It's gotta be the old school glasses but the bassist resembles Caine for sure.
Every one of the tracks you posted are favorites. Particularly Because.
Here's two takes on Gaudio/Crew's Silence Is Golden.
The Four Seasons
The Tremeloes
