Just changed from La Toc to Grande. Been seeing so many bad reviews on la toc. Getting Grande Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary. Anyone with experience there? How is it post Covid if you are not vax?

We went 15 years ago to the Grande. Went to a dinner at La Toc, and the grande was much nicer from what we could see of the resort. I think the whole butler schtick is not worth it, but if it’s your honeymoon or something, why not. Just go in to it with proper expectations and you will have a good time. Expect outback level steaks for the steakhouse and Olive Garden level Italian for the Italian restaurant. I’m fine with that, but some people are more refined than me. It would be like someone complaining about the clarity of water or lack of white sand on the East River or the Hudson River. You go to NYC for the food and entertainment options, not the water clarity or swimming. You go to St, Lucia for the beach, views of the Pitons, not the food

No need for a butler in my opinion but to each his own. You can take a shuttle to la toc to eat at their restaurants. Their French restaurant was amazing

I’m honearly curious on what made it amazing? I usually play it safe at these type of places with a steak frites. Not sure if I would want escargot from St. Lucia. My favorite meals were breakfast (bacon, fresh fruit, good coffee) and the aforementioned crepes.

Stayed in over water bungalow 4 years ago for 3 nights. Food at the grande Lucian was shite. We stayed in bungalow and drank and drank swimming in the sea. Only left for dinner and food at each restaurant was worse than the next. Room service breakfast by butler was decent. After 3 nights here, we transferred to the Viceroy Resort on the other side the island. This was excellent and blew the Grande away! But it was pricey!

We stayed at La Toc ~10 years ago. We shuttled over to the Grande a few times because we thought the beach was nicer. Back in 2011, the crowd at the Grande was younger and felt more like a Spring Break resort than anything. We were glad to only visit and return to La Toc.
