I have never played a Yakuza game but was looking for something new and see they are on gamepass. I know Like a Dragon is the newest game but after some googling I decided to start with Yakuza 0, the prequel. Anyone here a fan of the series? How do you rank the games?

I searched and didn't find anything substantial on TD.

I've only played 5, 6 and Judgement (wish there had been more actual crime investigation so hopefully the sequel gets that), but it's kind of like when you've played one, you've played them all, just with a different story in each one and the side-quests get more out there with each version.

I definitely enjoy them and still need to get into Like A Dragon, although I don't know how I'll feel about the turn-based fighting. I'm just a fan of Yakuza story/Japanese crime syndicate history, so these are kind of right up my alley

You may only have 20 minutes to play and it might not be time to get through a whole cut seen, its ridiculous.

The transition from action to turn-based was done really well. The only issue with the game is that the very end is kind of a grind. Granted, I love turn-based RPGs and occasionally doing mindless grinding so take that for what it is.

The story is pretty good too. All-in-all it was one of my favorite games in the last couple of years.

One of my favorite series. Played through every game twice except Yakuza 3. Thinking about going on another run soon.

Just started over again on Sunday with Yakuza 0. Debating on whether to just play through the story and deal with all of the side stuff as it comes (missing a lot) or going all out. 7 games is a big time commitment. Kiryu is my second favorite character of all time after Ezio.

I never did play Judgement or the newest Yakuza game. I'll play both of those either after this run or if I get bored of running through them again.
