He was a writer on the Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl (I think) and some others. But supposedly HBO is backing it. Should be interesting. Supposedly Sammy Gravano is a consultant for the project.

For reference:
The "mafia cops" were NYPD policemen, Steve Caracappa and Louis Eppolito who was on the Luccesse payroll (specifically Gaspipe Casso) for murders and other nefarious stuf from the 1980s. There story is woven into the John Gotti story in a way, since they murdered the kid that Angelo Ruggiero sent to try to kill Gaspipe. Louis Eppilito was actually in Goodfellas portraying a mobster in the Jimmy Two Times scene. Should be an interesting show. Louis Eppolito was also the cousin (or nephew maybe) of the, father and son Gambino duo, Eppolitos that Roy Demeo and Nino Gaggi killed in a car, which lead to a shootout with an off duty cop and Nino Gaggi being shot and a major trial.

How they got caught is hilarious, they got away with it for a long time until Louis Eppolito wrote a book about being a "mafia cop" who was torn between two worlds (the law and his family). He went on talk shows to promote it and the mother of the aforementioned murdered kid recognized his face from when he came to her house looking for him prior to his murder.

Never heard of this site, but its the Brooklyner or something.
