Some are.
A few years ago I bought a 55 inch Hiscense 4K with the Roku for the guest room on Black Friday evening. It had 3 hdmi ports, but less bells and whistles than the LG I had in the living room.
But that tv surprising had a better picture and the Roku is way better than the system running on the LG so I ended up swapping them out and put the cheap China brand in the living room until I upgraded this year.

I got the 60 inch hisense last year for $250 and it was a great grab. No 120 hz, but I’m not a big AV guy so its not a huge deal to me. The 55 inch TCL this year will go outside.
It’s not so much that they’re less bells and whistles, but that they “make” a different model for WalMart specifically for these sales so they can’t be price matched against.
