Question about Brees Rib Injury

So I’ve been wondering about this rib injury. The timeline is a bit unclear. They think he had some fractured during the Tampa game. But now they are finding more and more rib fractures.
So my question is do we think this all happened on one play or did he have multiple plays that caused the same exact injury in back to back games.
Once you have one rib fracture is it easier to fracture others? It seems like a bit of a freak accident to have the same body part hurt in back to back weeks. I thought maybe they were all possibly fractured against Tampa and then the hit against the niners punctured the lung.
Just curious for those that understand this injury a little better. I know the timeline that we have been presented on when these injuries occurred it just seems a bit odd for the same injury to happen in back to back games.

Ribs are almost the only area of the body of a quarterback that can be hit legally by a defensive player.... and the best target...
