Anyone else have major problems with this? I remember this being a big deal when systems first came out but didn’t really have a problem until the last few months. Both sets we had drift real bad, basically unusable. Just ordered a new set.

they will fix for free...but it takes weeks. I sent both sets of my sons controllers in and they fixed them and returned them

Bandit, I sent mine off. Does yours work better now?

Yes but I think just sent refurb ones...not exactly sure we got back the same ones.

I had that on my son’s switch. It was horrible. I ordered some quick drying electronic cleaner and used that. Solved it immediately.

Lift the flaps with a toothpick and spray under and you should be all set.

My left one is pretty awful. But it’s variable. The severity of it waxes and wanes. I’ve never cleaned it yet.

I usually semi-violently spin and mash it around and it improves for the time being.

Ok I’m glad I’m not the only one then. I did go ahead and order new ones so we’d have 6 total so more could play anyway.

But, I will try that and then even if not I might see if I can send them to get fixed/replaced.

Sending it in for repairs is relatively painless and the repair itself is free (you only pay for shipping). There is a backlog of a few weeks right now because of the 'rona. But if you can get by on other options for now then I'd say send 'em in.

My recent experience was basically this: I opened a ticket with Nintendo May 30, they got back to me on June 17 with a shipping label, I shipped via UPS on June 18, they confirmed receipt on July 7, and I got the fixed Joy Cons back yesterday (July 10).

Having extra Joy-Cons isn't a bad thing but they're hard to find right now.

I sent mine in a few weeks ago, but didn’t have to pay for shipping. They sent me label and I dropped it off at ups store.

There are repair kits available on Amazon. I've replaced both of the joycons on our switch. It's really simple.

Happened to two of mine, they are a piece of shite. Luckily if you live in the US they fix them for free.

Damn good to know. Glad I have that extra pair coming in to have in the meantime if it does take that long

Same - didn't have to pay for shipping and I actually got them back pretty quickly, I think it must have been around 10 days total.
