My Medicare tax withholding on my paycheck increased 60%

From May to June pay period. Salary is the same. What would cause this?

Should be 1.45 % of your gross payroll, less any pretax items. Most likely payroll error or change in pretax items, although 60% would be large amount for pretax items.

Yeah sitting around 2.2%. I’ll send a note to my payroll. Can’t imagine why

Mine changed as well (not as much as you). For me, it was due to "imputed income"; this is from benefits provided to you that are paid by your employer; like my company provides life insurance for me and the company pays for it.

Did you hit 200k gross wages in May/June?

Medicare tax is 1.45% for first 200k taxable wages and 2.35% after up to no limit.

Assuming this is true
A - You got to quit paying SS at 137k
B - Quit bitchin. you make a shitload of $
