So I've been roped into being commish for a 12 team dynasty league and I need help deciding on number of bench spots.

League will be QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, FLEX, K, D. (MAY NOT HAVE K WILL VOTE ON)

anyway I'm thinking 15 bench. Some members don't want a waiver wire where the no one worth a shite but imo that's kind of the point of a dynasty.

We have a 12 team dynasty league. Same starters that you mention, 13 on bench, and keep 13 from year to year. I'm not sure that I understand your waiver wire comment. It has been important in our league to pick up players during the year. I got Russell Wilson in the middle of his rookie season, and Philip Lindsay also. We used to only have 10 on the bench, and 13 on the bench means that virtually everyone with potential is on a roster. If possible, I think I'd like 12 on the bench, just to have a few more guys available.

Start with 25 man rosters

Gradually move up

We are at 30 in our 12 team dynasty.

Get rid of kickers and defense. Keeping up with either of those in a dynasty league is a waste of time IMHO. I like having 3 WR and 2 flex, mainly bc the pool of WR is so deep to choose from. You may want to discuss going superflex with the rest of the league as it seems to be the growing trend and I like that it increases QB values to match what they are in real life compared to fanatsy football.

Other than that, I wouldn't go less than 25 man rosters. As already mentioned, you can move up from there. I like 2-4 man taxi squads for rookie picks, but that's another discussion point for you & the league.

Just use the FAAB system for waivers. Easy to use and fair to everyone throughout the year. You can even include FAAB $ in trades on some apps.

15 bench while having kicker and defense is about a minimum. I wouldn't want to go any smaller than that. Would probably prefer to add a few spots.

Agree with others: “GET RID OF KICKERS AND DEFENSE”
Add extra FLEX/SUPERFLEX to get starting rosters back to 9 or 10. Some are fans of IDP also.
Starting at 23-25 and increasing gradually will aid those who have not been in dynasty leagues before.
