Anybody catch the National Championship in 4K? If so, how did it look?

Was it broadcast in 30 Hz or 60 Hz? I think DirectTV and Comcast were broadcasting it.

Comcast here, disappointingly the only options I saw for 4K broadcasts were the Field Pass with the sideline guys and the SkyCam with just the stadium noise. They both looked phenomenal though, but they were also a play or so behind the main broadcast so I mainly watched that. It's insane to me the detail you can see in the stadium watching in 4K, things like tiny ads in the Superdome or the Dome scoreboard and it all looks crystal clear.

Not sure why they didn't have the main ESPN broadcast in 4K?

I really hope Hulu and/or YouTube TV start doing this ASAP. I know FuboTV puts some things in 4k but it's only a few a month.

Would have loved to have seen that. The SkyView channel is great for halftime and watching the bands. Agreed about the primary channel. I would have been pissed if I had a party and was expecting the broadcast to be 4K.

I think they haven’t solved the bandwidth issue yet but it will be awesome when they do. Instant replay at 60 FPS in 4K sounds like heaven.

Comcast here also. I was greatly disappointed in the 4K options too. The skyview was like you had the worst seat in the dome. I liked it for halftime but nothing else. The other 4k streams just had part of the screen for the game and the other for whatever else it was like stats or sideline idiots.

Overall, I would like to see a bit of restraint on technology because the fly cams or whatever it was they kept using had a bit of dizzying effect even in 1080 and half the time it seemed to have a hard time keeping up with the action. I'm sure whoever was producing it was doing their best, but they tried to fit too much between plays often missing the players breaking huddles and lining up and in quite a few cases missing the snap which to me is unacceptable. Anyway, I'd prefer main cameras in 4k with more game footage and less fpv camera shots.

This is the most important part imo. Watching sports in 30 fps is way too choppy. Give me 1080/60 over 4k/30 any day for sports
