Never Flown Out of IAH - Help

I work at Shell in Deer Park and have an upcoming domestic flight out of IAH late August. I know it is still pretty far out, but I like to be as planned as possible, and also I will need to let my work know what time I will be leaving.
Flight leaves at 7:55 PM. My shift is usually over at 4:30, but it could take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour to get out of the contractor parking lot - so I'm thinking about leaving at 4 to beat that crowd. I plan on just taking the tollway all the way to 69 and then to The Parking Spot 2. Hopefully I should be there by 4:45 and I am guessing I will be checking my bag (flying through United) around 5-5:15 or so. Flight is on a Wednesday night, so security shouldn't take but 10-20 minutes, right? If so I should be through security by 5:30-5:45 and maybe at the latest 6.
Does that timeline sound good? I guess with it being Houston rush hour I should allocate a little bit more time for traffic. Worst case scenario I should be at my gate by 6:30-6:45 at the latest?
Thanks in advance!

If you are there by 4:45, you'll be fine.
I fly in and out of IAH at least once a month.

My experience at IAH (once every 3 mos or so).
Parking and riding the shuttle to 3-5 terminals (depending on airline) will take longer than check-in and security.

I flew out of IAH yesterday back to ATL. TSA precheck took less than 10 minutes and this was at about 5:30 pm on the concourse A (Delta). Regular security didn't look backed up either.

How long would you estimate it would take me from arrival at The Parking Spot 2 to get to the check-in area? I'm just going to guess it's going to be Terminal C - but I know that could change at any minute

The worst / most variable part of this is getting from Deer Park to IAH at that time of day. Provided there isn't construction / traffic you will be fine with that plan.
Too bad you can't fly out of Hobby

You’ll be fine, even worst-case scenario. Even if you can’t leave work by 5:30pm you should be at Parking Spot and getting on a bus by 6:30. Should take no more than 30 minutes from Parking Spot to being through security; 45 minutes if TSA is having a bad day. So even that gets you to your gate 30 minutes before takeoff.
And of course you’ll be leaving much earlier than my scenario; you’ll have plenty of time. I’d even say you’re being overly cautious, but it’s better to go ahead and do your plan if it’s your first time and gives you that peace of mind

Last time I parked at TPS, there were two buses that split Terminals A-B-C and D-E. Terminal C is the first terminal that we stopped at on the ABC bus and that was maybe 5 mins.
I had to fly out of A and it took me at least 15 mins to get there after drop-offs and pick ups at B and C.

I would have loved to. We love Southwest, they just didn't offer a nonstop flight later than like 4:30 - and I need to be able to work pretty much all day.

Check in online and don’t check bags. Doing those 2 things will save you an hour

just save the hassle and take an uber x. probably only about $35

Definitely going to check in online but don’t have a bag big enough to fit my clothes yet small enough to be carried on
