It was never an issue for me. I couldnt tell you the last time I got drunk. I went to the bars and did all the usual things in college, whatever. But just wasnt my thing.

When you took the painkillers 2 decades ago, when OCs were good... Did you need them? Could you have used something lesser?
I don't know you, your injuries, disposition etc, I just feel we have been over prescribed for a long time.

I've been on them for a month or two for medical reasons and never did either. They just make me hungry and want to go to sleep. I've seen others have the opposite reaction to them.

I def agree with that. People are probably drawn to feeling a certain way based on their personality traits.

Looking back I was def overprescribed. At the time I was like 20 or 21 and was just taking what the doctor gave me. Obviously I started enjoying them and abusing them and knew I was getting good shite. But I prob should have never been given a thing stronger than hydrocodone, definitely not oxycontin 80s with 30s for break thru.
There was a point that I knew this, and I would seek out the docs who would write them after my original doctor retired. That's on me. But I was already hooked and still youngish.
It is what it is. Part of my journey.

quote:Makes sense. I was more of a party person back then and alcohol kind of falls in with that. I also used to enjoy the cocaine (also great for partying ) but waking up after an all nighter would make me feel like complete shite so I left it alone.

I was the same with both. I used them both recreationally. Socially.

Not a worse feeling in the world than waking up at 4pm picking out bloody boogers after you've been up all night. It had its place if you had some strippers or women over partying with you

And even worse when you look in your wallet.
