I have the pleasure of having two fraudulent credit applications filed in my name last week. I've already called both banks to report the fraud and cancel the applications and will request copies of the applications as well. I'm also putting an extended credit alert with each of the three credit bureaus. What else should I be doing? Lifelock?

This has also happened to me. I would call all my open credit cards and alert them of activity to protect your current credit cards. Hold the extended credit for at least 30 days. Tell your bank about the credit fraud in event they try something with those monies.

When I travel abroad, I have a second wallet with a couple credit cards and ID that stays in the hotel safe. I was mugged in Kiev last October and stranded without credit for balance of trip.
