Big surprise. Looks injury related

quote:

Some pieces are being juggled as players show up for camp dealing with injury issues and things of that nature. After the first day of rookie minicamp, the Saints announced they were waiving three players. Chase Hansen, a linebacker out of Utah, and Jake Powell, a tight end out of Monmouth, had been brought in with the Saints UDFA class. They were both dealing with injuries.

Sucks, but it's all part of the Darwinian shite that has to happen between now and the end of summer

I was under the impression that they were going to bring him back. He had some type of procedure done to his back in January and wasn't quite ready.

Did you read that somewhere? The article I read just said he was waived.

Several of the nfl draft sites listed this guy as our top UDFA so it was disappointing to hear they had waived him. I hope it works out.

We might bring him back, but I wouldn't count on it. He was straight up cut & all 32 teams can sign him now.

His injury must still be hampering him, b/c we could've kept him by just IR'ing him. The coaches probably just didn't want to even deal with the injury.

If he makes it he'll be a 26 year old rookie...

Well, they resigned him so I'm guessing that means a new contract. Maybe the Saints put something in the new contract protecting them from liabilty connected to his injury. Just a guess.
