In the market for buying a personal TV for my bedroom, something around 55 inches. I want the best picture available, prices with in reason, obviously.

The majority of what I will be doing is gaming, however also like to utilize various streaming services for movies, tv shows, live tv

Have had many Samsung TV's and never seem to have a problem with how long they last, it's just time to upgrade from my current TV that is sporting 720 p.

Price range is a key factor. But I would go to rtings.com to compare the different TVs in your price range

Refer to the 70" tv thread. I just put a 49" TCL in my bedroom. $350 out the door from Wal-Mart. It compares favorably to the LG OLED l just installed in my den. It also covered the giant hole in the armoire I cut with a sawzall to make room for a Samsung CRT 15 years ago, so I'm no longer in dutch with the wife.

How do you expect the TCL to perform? is it an accredited brand?

That's actually a good question. The TCL was recommended by a friend, and l looked at his. It appeared to have a good picture with roku built in (l had to purchase a roku for the LG OLED...an extra $90.) It replaced a 32" CRT that l bought as our only tv in our den. I paid over $900 for that crt about fifteen years ago. The TCL has very good reviews on rtings.com, and at $350 for a 49" tv, I decided it was worth the risk.

I've only had both tv's for a couple of weeks, but the TCL has proven to be a great deal.

Smaller TVs are gonna appear clearer than larger TVs with the same resolution. But the LG Oled is simply a far superior tv

Walmart had a clearance 75'' 4k tv for $500. I bought it and am at awe at the size. I doubt it's anything like the quality you guys are looking at but its clear as F*** and I can't believe they only charged $500 for this.

As I posted in the 70" tv thread, the Sony x900f is the best tv for the money. Check out greentoe. I got my 65" for 1299 through them. I went back and forth between a few brands and models, but decided to spend a bit more than I initially wanted to get a superior picture. I have seen posts on reddit with people being able to get a 55" x900f through greentoe for 700-800.
