I saw a comparison between my chemical romances “welcome to the black parade” to the previous generation’s bohemian rhapsody.

I disagree with that, but it does beg the question. If you’re looking at those born in the 90s, what is their bohemian rhapsody and who is their queen? Very curious as I grew up listening to a limited genres of music (emo, light rock, some electronic, light rap).

For the steak of conversation,
The barney theme somg

Hell of a jam... vocal harmonies, different time signatures and some snarky lyrics

hmm what I intended (which may have been different than the context of the original thread) was more of when people think back to the early 2000s and such, what is that one song people will immediately think of?

And what is the first artist that will come to mind

I don't know if there is any band from that time period until now that has ever come close to matching the amazing talent and overall chemistry of Queen. Bohemian Rhapsody is timeless and one of the greatest musical arrangements (possibly the greatest) in rock history. It's a song that every generation can appreciate.

Music, in general, has become so corrupted and diminished by the business side that it can hardly even be considered an artform. I don't know if we'll ever see another renaissance of great music as we did in the 60s/70s and early 90s again. It no longer matters how talented and original the musicians are now. Hell, you don't even have to be an actual songwriter/musician. It's all gimmicks and image now and as long as it's marketable to the masses then that's all that matters to the music industry.

No one would come close to Queen, but it would have to be My Chemical Romance or the Killers
