LSU goes “all in” on a recruit in position of need who takes last OV to Bama. Inexcusable!

Who does our risk management! LSU football is a $100 million dollar enterprise. They have to have risk management consultants. Who was backup plan to PSjr considering he went to Bama with last visit and wasn’t even a commit? This is basic stuff guys. I owned my own 10 million dollar business for several years and having contingency plans or backup plans to important strategic decisions was a given. Perhaps I’m missing something or don’t understand the recruiting rules...but seems like without backup plans you can put the program’s consistency at risk. They should have put a full court press on both Surtain and Goodrich. Tell me where I’m wrong....!

The backup plan was to not fill the spots left by Surtain and Goodrich .

Going forward, after this recruiting dilemma today, we need to secure the best available committed athletes and forget the last minute primadonnas. Unless the staff has a 'silent commitment' we can't afford to be played- even more so, by Bama! If we really had a chance to have Goodrich & held him up for a QB that may never see the field, then I am really starting to have concerns about O's recruiting. If you had a 'sure thing' at a position of need, you simply don't pass that up! We better win on the field next year, regardless of the schedule.

There is no excuse for not being able to take both of these guys. Both are high quality recruits and it shouldn't have come down to an either/or situation.

It goes like this. The coaches had a mock draft. In that mock draft, apparently Foster came out ahead of Goodrich. God only knows why (they thought Foster would come here). Therefore, we missed both.

Oh, it's also reassuring to know that we would've gotten Goodrich if we wouldn't have taken a kicker (because we thought he would get a grad transfer waiver).

It’s almost laughable watching the O apologists clammer to make excuses to explain this shite show of events. I’ve heard everything from “stars don’t matter” to this was done on purpose. At least the majority of us know the truth about ole bayou boy Orgeron.

If Surtain was so in love with LSU he would have committed in December.. when he didn’t that should have been a red flag and more prioty given to Goodrich. Keep a spot open for him, but whatever you do have a backup plan. Orgeron whiffed big time on this and should be held accountable.

And if you don't go all in, then the fan base crucifies you for not trying. It's a gamble and called recruiting.

Sound logic.

The handwriting was on the wall when he didn't commit in December and made the Gumps his last visit. Unfortunately our coaching staff foolishly persuaded themselves that he would come to LSU. They were too deep in to admit he was lost....
