Looking to learn Fark type skills

I want to figure out how to put some cool stuff in the background of some videos of me singing.
Volcanoes erupting, other planets, famous landmarks, etc.
Do y'all have any suggestions on programs/software that I should look into? What about tutorials?

Just google/youtube what you're looking at doing.
Photoshop/GIMP for still photos
After Effects for motion-related ones.
Production software would be your best bet. Maybe sing on a green screen and it will be easy for you to make the background anything you want.
