No it is not and it is better than a spine align. He explains how to do both. I contacted him and he said he showed both methods to clarify the difference but he also said it was a waste of time to do the spine align, although he does not out and out say that in the video, you can read the messages below that eventually clarify, the spine align does not need to be done and is the incorrect way to install the shaft.

I used spine align 2 years ago was not pleased, now I know why.

Some folks who believe this is important say that is why we may have a favorite club or two in the bag, because it is flowed.

If you have not looked at the video, check it out, he talks about how clubs are built often related to a label location on a shaft rather than the best position of the shaft.

Watching that video made me want to commit suicide. Holy frick that guy is retarded.

Why on earth would you waste time finding the "spine" of the golf club if you're going to be removing your mark after you have found the "F.L.O"?

I contacted him and asked that specific question. YOu can see his answers below. Bottom line, he wanted to demonstrate the difference between finding the two for clarity because people get confused between the two.

He said it was a waste of time to find the spine, you just need to do the FLO.

Great follow up. Finding the "F.L.O." does seem interesting.

The tour vans don't even do this unless instructed by the pro. And most don't. This is a waste of money tbh.

Relatively inexpensive and it is do it yourself. Once you have done this I doubt you would say it is a waste of time.

When you do it yourself like he was doing you still have less than 50% of getting right. It's the confidence you have in the club. Nothing more. There was a huge meeting about this with golfworks years ago.

I definitely think it helps with confidence in the club and often that has everything to do with my success or lack thereof
