Looking to do a quick get away for 2 and wanting to see if there are any suggestions towards Lafayette or lake Charles area. Live on the gulf coast and tired of lower Alabama and New Orleans isn't happening. Is there anything cool to the west of me.

Thanks

If you like music, try the Blue Moon Saloon in Lafayette...or the Rendez-Vous des Cajuns show at the Liberty Theatre in Eunice.

Lafayette:
-Stop at all times the places in Scott and compare boudin and Cracklin.
-Visit Acadiana village.
-Visit Bayou Teche brewery and/or Parish brewery.
-Get you a poboy at Old Tyme Grocery or Villagers Cafe Maurice.

This one knows what's up

Also, stop by Johnson's Boucaniere near St John's Cathedral for a Parrain's special (boudin ball stuffed grilled cheese) & some great BBQ

A trip to downtown Breaux Bridge would be a nice treat too...I forget the name of the place that does weekend brunch with a zydeco band

Don't forget to grab a couple of stuffed chickens to bring home from Hebert's specialty meats (or whichever place you prefer)

I wouldn't do Lake Chuck unless you enjoy the casino. Laeberge and Golden Nugget are nice with some decent restaurants, bars, and pool.

If you just want to do tour some traditional LA stuff, stick to Acadiana. Avery Island, some good mom and pop lunch counters, and a live music venue

One of my favorites in Lafayette. My office used to be by the mall and we'd drive down there 2-3 times a month to get a Poboy.
