Experience Matters

Throughout LSU's tournament run, the freshmen on this team have been the bulwark of our success. They have kept them from losing one of those games no one can really afford to drop along the way in the tournament. Watson most of all, but Walker, Smith, Hess, Slaughter have been at the heart of a 1-loss tear through the postseason.

In that take-all game vs. Oregon State, the sophomores, juniors and seniors reasserted themselves to ensure the team survived and advanced to this final.

To beat a team as good as Florida in the a three game series, the functional heart of our team for most of this season has to beat more strongly than ever. There is no way anyone can claim this team lacks top-line talent among its experienced leaders. Motivation won't be an issue, so here's to hoping the execution of our blue chip guys is top-notch and we bring No. 7 home this week.
