I had an incandescent light bulb break off in one of my light sockets and I was not able to fish the broken off piece out of the socket. How much would one expect an electrician charge to come out and remove this broken piece of bulb?

He was at my house and charged $29 for a service call and there were no parts involved. So I'm talking strictly the labor for the half hour he was out here.

Probably the cost of growing a pair and doing it yourself

I would charge you a minimum of $150 just to show up.

I'm a CPA, not an electrician. I prefer not to screw around with shite that I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing especially when it can get you electrocuted. i started doing it and thought I was breaking The socket so I stopped.

Well he charged me $29 for that, hence the reason why I asked specifically about doing the job.

You got off cheap, he shoulda charged you $100 because you're a pussy.

Next time, just cut off the juice and remove it with some pliers.

I'm poor because I overpaid someone to fix something? That makes a lot of sense.

Then again, at least I know the difference between your and you're. Illiterate frick.

I didn't get off cheap. I said he charged $29 for a service call. This didn't include what he charged in totality. This is why I presented the question.

So angry.

You missed my lack of articles "a" and "the" in my first sentence, and "the" in the second. If you want to feel better about yourself correcting people you can't just half arse it. You'll have to start using your whole arse, plebeian.

This is pretty standard.

Probably get a cheaper price from a mom/pop one man show though.

I am a state licensed electrician, 33 years of experience. $29 is cheap for a service call. Most charge a minimum of $85 just to show up. I charge $65, and that is the cost for labor for the first hour. That is also a minimum. I'd have fixed it, i am sure, with no parts needed.

Just two weeks ago, i charged a friend's sister in law $25, but she lives a mile away, and i gave her a friend's price. Otherwise it would have been $65.
