Just seeing if any anglers had any report from this past weekend from the island. 6 of us are heading down Friday-Sunday with the dad for our first fishing trip with him. May even head south as weather looks good for now... Specks and reds as well... Appreciate any help...

I will be down there all weekend as well. Are the snapper biting within ten miles?

Fished specs and reds Friday and Saturday never got into them really ended up with 8 trout and 5 reds the fist day and 3 trout 4 reds and 4 flounder the second day missed placing in the flounder division at the rodeo by 2 oz. it was the slowest trip I been on all year out of about 12 trips but every day is a new day don't let that discourage you. They may be on fire this weekend who knows.

Took my boy out and easily had the worst summer trip we've had in years.

We caught lots of fish, but very few trout actually hit the ice- most were 9-11" trout.

That was Saturday fishing behind the island in kayaks. Sunday we planned to hit the marshes of Leeville but weather said otherwise when some storms rolled through early that morning. We ended up just packing it up and heading home a bit early after that.

Found some trout and reds out the arse toward four bayou.

Yes the red snapper and mangroves are very hungry within 10 miles.
