another narrative (that i once was guilty of buying into) was how far away OSU was from Miami in talent

OSU sent a lot of players to the draft immediately following this game, and then set the fricking record for players drafted from a school the year after. a lot of those OSU guys played in the NFL. i think it's like 20/22 or something

There was a thread a few months ago on the SECr about the talent in the Bama/LSU NCG last year.

OSU/Miami had, I believe, 38 or 39/43 starters were drafted for both teams (Gamble started both ways for OSU)

I still think the record for future players drafted is the 87 Miami @ Florida State game.

On the "call" most of the replays cuts to Gamble right after the holding occurred. It was defensive holding and not pass interference, but it was pretty evident.

Now BTN is showing the 1999 Michigan-Wisconsin game; I don't know what the big deal is, but it's kind of fun to see Brent Musburger wax about how Drew Henson is just a little better than Tom Brady.

Didn't he get replaced with Brady in the Orange Bowl against Alabama?

Watch the play the whole way. There was nothing. The guy who was about a yard away from the play the entire way clearly saw no reason to throw a flag. I think Porter just got scared and choked in a big spot.

There was an angle I've seen before that's rarely ever shown where its clear as day Gamble was getting held the frick out of before the ball was even out of Krenzel's hands.

People like to completely ignore how this game shouldn't have even gone into OT. Watch Ohio States last drive in the 4th on their 3rd down play. Gamble ran an out. Besides getting raped on his cut by the DB, he caught the ball inbounds and was beyond the marker. He even got both knees down. It baffles me to this day that the refs missed both the hold and then the completion.

Not to mention after the fact this all happened, Miami had 4 shots from the 1 in the second OT. That d-line was the tits

No doubt. I'm in no way saying Ohio State didn't deserve to win. I just can't agree with the call. I don't see anything. Never have, never will.

I came home to go to this game and it was insane. I also went to the Ohio State/ Florida BCSNCG out here and goddamn it seemed like Buckeye fans made up 90% of the crowd.
