Anybody go to the Bayou Music Festival in 1978 or '79? It was at Alex Broussard's Ranch. I remember it started out with Blackfoot and ended with Jo-el Sonnier, Hank Williams Jr & Willie Nelson. I can't remember who was in between Blackfoot and Jo-el. I drank a lot of beer and a fifth of Wild Turkey, so my memory is a little foggy. Any input? I do remember that I had one helluva time.

Since you're doing nostalgia I'll piggy back on your thread

When I was around 10 or 11 in the late '70s ch 33 in BR aired a TV special of a local concert with various classic NO R&B acts -- none of whom, of course, I'd ever heard of before. I'm pretty sure one was Irma Thomas.

Does ANYBODY else remember this?

Yes. I was the promoter who put the show on. I booked all the acts. Willie-Hank Jr.-Ray wylie Hubbard-Fred carter Jr.(father of Deana Carter, singer of Strawberry Wine.) Raccoon-Tamara Kay-Young Country-Tommy McClain. I booked Willie at Prince Marriat Hotel on April 30th 1978. Was an interesting booking.

I remember there used to be these types of Outlaw Country concerts at the BR Fairgrounds during that period.
