It is, that's really strange. I've always wanted to see the original.

I'm sure this will make a ton of money

The original is decent enough. This one will most likely be shite.

The original was pretty "meh".

I imagine the remake with that cast is going to be fairly awful unless they make some big changes to the script.

I thought the original was pretty good. But it only came out like 3 years ago. It really needs to be remade already? Damn.

I watched a trailer for this last week and it did not look very impressive.

So now that Hollywood has run out of movies to remake, they're going to start remaking recent movies, but with black people.

Genius.

No, they're just remaking movies from other countries that most Americans haven't heard of. Case in point, Brothers.

My wife and I both really liked the original and I hate that they have to turn it around like this so soon after it was made.

Interesting fact: For those that have seen the original, the midget is in both movies, the white one and the black one. He was the only American in the original. So, I can only assume that the same people are making the movie.

The original is hysterical. It's a movie you have to watch with other people and if you do then you'll die laughing. This remake looks miserable.

is this really a new take on the original or does it just so happen to have the same title?

Just read up... it's entirely different projects. No attachment at all, it seems.

First was done by Frank Oz.

This one is done by Neil Labute. I'm sure it will be funny.

Except that it has essentially the same plot ponits and jokes. But entirely different besides that.

They have started running the trailer and numerous TV spots for it. It may not be that bad. Looks like it will have at least a few funny moments.
