They (Bowling) said it's a server in Japan that they didn't turn on and can't get a hold of anyone for some reason

try and follow...the person doing the inviting must delete the others from their buddy list, then re-add them to your buddy list, then send the group invite.

to invite get the person you want to invite to log off then back in. Once he does that send him the invite and it will work
