Why TF is this something we even have to vote on?
And how TF did this even get on the ballot?

I think the goal of it is to future-proof against the possibility of progressives infiltrating government positions and allowing illegals to register to vote in local/state elections.

I think you got it backwards. Having illegals vote is akin to having 16 year olds eligible to vote. It lets the crooks and democrats keep their power.
ETA - Nvmd, I see your point. I guess it depends on who proposed it to understand the reasoning. But it’s dangerous ground and should NEVER BE A CONSIDERATION.

Passing the amendment will make it unconstitutional per the Louisiana constitution for illegal aliens to be registered voters.
If the amendment does not pass, illegal aliens will still be unable to register to vote in Louisiana, which is the current state of affairs as far as I know.
However, AFAIK there is currently not anything in the state constitution clearly outlawing illegal aliens registering to vote. So if progressive leadership infiltrated the relevant state positions they could potentially allow illegal aliens to register. A constitutional amendment prohibiting it should block that possibility.

LOL... do you really think it’s compassion? Wake up my brother, it’s much more nefarious than that. It’s an attempt to acquire power.

Hope you're right Huey- the text seemed to have been written as a compound double negative. Read it a few times and defaulted to your wisdom.

Undocumented Citizens
No such thing.
Citizens are documented by definition.

Louisiana Constitution
Changed to citizen of the state and citizen of the U.S.
quote:Right to Vote
Section 10. Right to Vote. Every citizen of the state, upon reaching eighteen years of age, shall have the right to register and vote, except that this right may be suspended while a person is interdicted and judicially declared mentally incompetent or is under an order of imprisonment for conviction of a felony.

The Democrats favorite vote.

That why they hid it on this vote and not much talk about it.
They know this is a low turnout election statewide.
If someone wanted to sneak something in that needed to be voted on low turnout elections is the way to go.

It should be clearly understood that only citizens are allowed to vote. In some leftist cities, however, illegals are allowed to vote in local elections. This is probably an attempt to make sure that it doesn't happen in Louisiana.

The wording on the ballot was tricky. I had to read it twice.

I admit I messed up, wife and I went to vote only for that amendment and I didn’t really read the question just assumed no would mean no they can’t vote.
