I guarantee if his 3pt shots for the season were reviewed, 95% of his misses hit the front of the rim. He is short on his shot consistently! Why not coach him to aim for the back of the rim!??
Believe me or not, most shooters are coached to aim just over the front of the rim, and this obviously doesn't work for X.
