Exactly. They are experiencing some degree of independence from parental supervision for the 1st time ever. The weak desperately thirst to latch on to something that makes them feel important. College is the 1st time that most of them have had a true indoctrination effort pushed on them free of buffers that can somewhat intercede during their HS years.
