Also, Waddill Wildlife Refuge on Flannery Road has two ponds stocked with bream and catfish. There are piers around those ponds, so it's safe for little ones. The fish aren't huge, but my kids tore them up on crickets over there. You can get crickets from Jones Creek Hardware. At Waddill, there are also a few hiking trails that lead to the Comite River, and an archery range. It's really a nice place right in the middle of Baton Rouge.







FYI, rarely this crowded. Those are photos from a tournament they have each year. We usually see less that 10 people fishing any time we've gone.

This is where my kids learned to fish. Catfish pond was great before the flood. We'd always leave some decent sized ones even when they weren't biting that great.

I think Holden catfish farm is still open. I haven't been by there in 20 years but it shows up on google maps.
