TV mount question (weight vs size on TV)

I have an old TV mount for my 8 year old 55" LG TV. The mount says it supports up to 115lbs. I am looking at the 75" Sony X90 from Costco. Say it weights 74lbs and has VESA of 300x300. The manual says supports up to 400x400. I assume I am good since I am under weight even though it says up to 55" TV and should also match from a VESA standpoint?
Thanks
Thanks

Yeah, the specs on older mounts probably took into account what TVs weighed 8 years ago. My 50 inch Samsung I got last spring only weighs 25 lbs. I used a mount I had already and it worked great. I forget what VESA size it has, but my mount had two flat bars that I bolted to the holes in the back of the TV, then they click into a track mounted on the wall. It is very slim and hugs the wall pretty close. Had to get all the connections in before I attached it.

The TV is less than 115 lbs. and the Vesa holes line up, you'll be just fine. Just make sure that your current mount is attached to the wall with fasteners that can support the 74 lbs.

Its a shame you have to tell people this, but its necessary.
