years ago, the Oklahoma fans wrote a column claiming that Nebraska (CORNhuskers) fans smelled like corndogs.
Auburn fans picked it up and changed all of the Nebraska references to LSU references. Said we smell like carnival workers, etc.
It went "viral" and the rest is history. Partially propagated because LSU fans reacted to it.

It is because of an article someone wrote a few years ago claiming that LSU fans smell like corndogs. Considering the things that could have been said, it's not really terribly insulting. That's why I believe some just laugh at the idea. Like little boys in elementary school, you only pick on the girls you admire. You can read the article at.... LINK

i agree. i think it's dumb. i mean, go with something that at least makes sense (ie: smell like gumbo or the swamp, i don't know... at least something that ties to La)
