I believe Texas law requires orange on public land. Orange doesn't mean a thing.

I hunted for five years in Wyoming on private land. The last year, wearing an orange hat and vest. Five hunters from Georgia were ten yards from me when I said "Good Morning." The closest one turned and fired ....I had ducked behind the downed trunk of the tree I was sitting behind.

When everyone calmed down ...I told them "Deer don't say good morning." They told me "We are hunting Antelope." I countered "Antelope are not in a herd in a ravine. They are up on the plains."

Then we got a little silly. "I'll say this now, War Damned Eagle." One countered, "Now we have a justified reason to shoot you."

I explained that Antelope are easy. Scope your herd, find a big buck. If they spook, they go up the hill and down. Belly to the top of hill, find your buck again and take the shot ..... Don't waste time trying to chase them.
