A Hornets title, or....

What would you rather have?
1) The Hornets win an NBA title in 2009.
2) The Saints go to the next four Super Bowls and lose all of them by an average score of 28-17.
FYI, this is an easy question, and there is a right answer.

LSUTiger205, congratulations. You "get it."
I asked literally 30 people the same question at Bar None (NYC Saints bar) after the game yesterday, and every one of them--without hesitation--picked "Door Number Two."

of course they did. you can't expect people to give up a SB trip after waiting 40 years for a game most people don't watch. just a stupid scenerio, 90% will go Saints

Or the NBA Finals? You think most NOLA-ites won't watch a Hornets NBA Finals?

Watch and WANT are two different things. Of course they would watch the Hornets in the finals (which is not happening BTW) but their WANT will always be the Saints in the SB, even if they are doomed to lose

Buffalo Bills > Miami Heat
The Heat have a title. The Bills do not.

are we talking about America or NOLA?
DO you think Bills fans give a shite about the Heat trophy?

I would rather see the Saints make the Super Bowl.

Saints fans have been wanting a Super Bowl trip how fricking long? exactly.
Hornets have only been in Louisiana for a few years and most fans didn't become fans til' last years playoff run.

You are assuming people really care about both. They don't.

In your opinion. Your opinion on the relative value of teams is no better or worse than theirs.

the correct answer is, this is the gayest question ever to be posted on saints talk!

saints in the SB easily
i moved from new orleans before the hornets came into town, so i watch occasionally and bandwagon cheer for them
but the saints are in my blood, and the hornets are not

I agree. You'd want a championship. You want to be known as a championship city.
ETA: Plus LSU already have 2 titles recently in college football. LSU football>Saints Football. LSU is Louisiana's football team.lol. Can't say the same for Saints. You have a lot of people in Louisiana that likes the Texans and Cowboys, depending on what part of the state you're in.

I'm a Hornets season ticket holder and am probably recognized on this board as one of the biggest Hornets fans here.
And I think I'd take the Saints Super Bowl and 2-week buildup of excitement, civic pride, national attention, etc.
Sorry, its just a fact - only about 1/5 of the people in the country even give a crap about the NBA Finals - the Lakers and Celtics series wasn't even that hyped this past season.
Winning an NBA title isn't that huge of a deal - for God's sake - SAN ANTONIO has a bunch. SAN ANTONIO. And their titles do absolutely nothing to change the fact that San Antonio sucks as a city. The NBA playoffs are a ton of fun and I'm so happy that the city rallied around the Hornets, but the Super Bowl transends football and sports and is literally a national holiday.

Saints Super Bowl no question about it.
I like the Hornets but I see them as a novelty still. If I had to send one of them packing to keep the other, see ya Hornets.
I remember the excitement when they Saints were in the NFC Championship game. I could only imagine the feeling if they had made the Super Bowl.

Considering the Saints have been around for 40 years and the Hornets about 5 or 6, I'd take the Saints as well. I just don't have as much vested in the Hornets. I like them and cheer for them, but I'll take the Saints.
Look at it this way:
I'd rather the Saints have 4 NFC Championships than the Hornets have one NBA title.
