If you have an important job, you don’t get paid time off either. You just get the privilege of being able to delay work you have to do anyway, likely limited to 2 weeks a year.
The answer to the OP is completely dependent on the individual.

Ah yes the right that employees have to delay their responsibilities for a cumulative 2 weeks a year. Really outweighs the benefit of not having to answer to anyone when something comes up.
For any job that has some level of importance, PTO is a joke. The problems you left for vacation will simply be waiting when you come back.
