Entergy would stomp a sack of kittens to get out out of NOLA.
The vegetation remediation requirements are so ridiculous as to be counter productive. Which, I kind of agree with you don’t want 100 year old oaks to get butchered but this is the result when you get a windstorm
the alternative (underground) is so massively expensive (and in many cases impossible regardless of cost) that Entergy is in a no win situation. Put regulatory incompetence and graft on top of that and well...Entergy is a about to say “see ya”
And as the poster above pointed out they’ll still be the power generation monopoly. It’s not like the city council is going to build themselves a power plant
