I've been hunting elk since 2010. About 50% on filling tags.

Currently my group is sitting at 50% with a nice bull down. 1 miss. And another bull shot today looking for him.

Learning elk is a bitch period. But once you learn them, their patterns, how to approach hunts, winds, get the right gear, put in the 6 months prep, find people with the same mental fortitude as you,... then you can bring home meat every year within your group.

Today I've already done 8 miles and elevation changes of 2000ft. I've been in elk all day long.

I guess point being... get a guide to learn and increase percentage of gettinf meat.

Then decide if you want to do this regularly and buy the best gear 1x.
