W was such an idiot. All we needed to do was make more secure cockpit doors. Instead he created an army of government workers and streamlined the government's ability to spy on citizens.

Yep, just more government incompetence.
Their surveillance program allowed the hijackers to do what they did, so the government decides to fix it by making it harder for American citizens, and spying on them.

It's what all politicians do. They capitalize on an opportunity with fear. We just hand over our freedoms cause we allow them to scare us.
