I have a program from a game played at West End Park on November 24, 1910. I am from Arkansas but married a cajun from Thibodaux 29 years ago. I am also in possession of a pennant when the Razorbacks were called the Cardinals. Believe it or not it is Purple & Gold. I grandfather was on this Cardinal team that went 7-0 and also on the 1910 Razorbacks. Most may not have known Arkansas history included Tiger Purple & Gold. I'll bring the pennant out when our website is finished which is marionsue.com. You can see the reason why our user name is riverboat. I can't seem to load the image tof the program but here is the link to it. I hope you enjoy seeing this as it is LSU history as well. LINK

Damn, that's pretty damn cool. Keep us updated on the site. Oh, and ignore the idiots who will be telling you that this is on the wrong board, because I am sure they will chomping at the bit to be the first to let you know.

I had two great-grandfathers on the 1907-1911 teams; one of them in the LSU football hall of fame. We had the football from the 1907 LSU-University of Havana game, until we donated it two years ago to the Andonie Museum.

Just sayin'.

Cool program. I love classic college football memorabilia.

Edit: Also, can you imagine just how arse-backwards our two states were in 1910? Hell, in the 1930s Huey Long said LSU would beat Arkansas because...Louisiana had more paved roads than Arkansas. Zing!

no sarcasm* I should have thrown some exclamation points in, I guess.

It's also very interesting that the game was on Thanksgiving

That is awesome. Definitely post that website more often. I would like to see the penant and anything else you have of LSU from that time period.

How fiting the game was on THANKSGIVING and now we play the day after thanksgiving. Everything seems to make sense now.

I bet Lou Holtz picked Notre Dame to beat LSU that weekend as well.

Awesome relic !

The program says the game was in Little Rock. The "football history" link on this website confirms we cruised to the 51-0 defeat. The prequel to the Wildhog formation!

Thanks, I wanted to share some history with all of you. I also have the 1909 cheers from both schools in the program. They certainly are different from today's calls. I showed the Cardinal pennant, the only one known to be in existence at a Little Rock television station yesterday. You will be very shocked and surprised to see their colors then. Very shocked indeed. There is some video of it as well. Here's the link. LINK

You should see the the calls or chants or both teams back this. It won't let me load the page out of the program to send it to you. I have both team pictures in the 1910 program as well. The pennant is purple and gold, you can see it here. The U of A does not have one of these either and a donation was tried by my dad but the U of A would not put a photo of my grandfather with it so dad told them to send it back. He had let it stay in the U of A museum for a couple of years. Why would they not put a photograph of someone on the team responsible for holding onto something 99 years? Not God knows!LINK
