You mean the old ferry over the Intercoastal? My uncle's lease was near Shell's Black Bayou Oil Field. After the ferry shut down we used to have to go through Hackberry, then drive across Black Lake (near the Strategic Petroleum Reserve) on a shell road with lots of gates.

Gum Cove I presume.
No rice fields down there now huh? I used to drive down, cross the pontoon bridge and watch the wildlife. Drove right up to the ranch. Nobody ever asked me to leave.
