The first one I really remember was OJ. He was a true beast with a burst of speed that would leave you in the dust. I think it was the 1967 UCLA vs. USC game where he went wild but every time he carried the ball the UCLA players rushed over to pick him up so he had less time to rest.didn’t matter though He rushed for a ton of years and USC won 21-20. Great game for an 8 year old to remember.

Me too!
In person, I saw Doug Flutie against Houston in the Cotton bowl, Bo Jackson against Texas A & M in the Cotton bowl and of course Joe Burrow numerous times.
I attended NLU and worked for John David Crow (winner at A&M in late 50's). He was a tough old fellow.

John McKay fed OJ the ball so much that reporters complained that he was over working him.
McKay's response:
"The ball's not that heavy. I'll tell him when he's tired. He is not in a union. He can carry the ball as many times as we want him to."
