Im a novice, but i went 556/223 mainly bc i already have a 1977 Colt AR that shoots 223, and an old wise man once told me always have two guns for each caliber you buy.
My buddy just got a 300blk and his ammo is way more expensive than 223 range ammo and he hasnt been able to find any on shelves. Ive had no problem recently getting 223.

I fear I may have fallen down a quite deep rabbit hole here, does the board have any good recs on some good AR-15 building Youtube channels?
