I can’t speak for Virginia, but from what I have seen, Louisiana is at about 85%.
On a personal note I only know two people that are currently hospitalized due to Covid. One is unvaccinated, the other was waiting to get their second shot. I don’t currently know anyone hospitalized that is totally vaccinated.
As for just vaccinated vs unvaccinated in my expansive set of friends and family...currently:
Vaccinated with Covid - 14
Unvaccinated with Covid - 6
I don’t get how my personal subset of data is so different than what is being reported.
FWIW - I am pro-vaccine for those with health issues. My two friends that are hospitalized have health issues. Sad to say, but my friend that waiting to get their second shot is pretty sick. They got the infusion and still had to be brought to the hospital. They are not currently on a vent, so that is a good sign.
